Darling Harbour.

Beth and I spent two days at Darling Harbour in Sydney on our recent holiday. We explored the Sydney Maritime Museum and I explored the four ship on display. The Endeavour, a replica of Captain Cook’s Endeavour in which he explored the east coast of Australia. The HMAS Vampire a RAN Destroyer, the Onslow, a submarine, and the James Craig a tall ship.

The Endeavour was interesting, 92 crew and officers with James Cook. Some parts of the ship I had to crawl through almost the ceiling was that low, and conditions very cramped.

The Onslo similarly was very cramped and claustrophobic.

The James Craig cost 22 million dollars to restore after it had been sunk. It is now used as a display ship and taken out into the harbour on special occasions.

I spent more time on the Vampire, as it is the same design as the Voyager which was sunk in a collision with HMAS Melbourne an Air Craft Carrier with the lost of some 100 crew.
